Hence, the ability to detect changes in neuronal tissue concentration would depend on the spatial resolution of the 1H-MRS sellectchem technique (currently limited to 1 cc, clearly suboptimal for the 2- to 3-mm thick human cortex) as well as the timing of acquisition.
