Projections show that between 2000 and 2050 the number of people above the age of 60 will increase from 11% to 22% worldwide, meaning that persons in this age group will number approximately 2 billion [2].Aging presents a series of challenges for the entire world population, primarily because seniors slowly lose their ability to be self-sufficient Dacomitinib due to chronic diseases, physical and/or mental disabilities, or the general frailty that characterizes the aging process [2].
